Happy March!
It's currently pouring outside and it's cloudy. But, with each passing day, it's a day closer to spring. So for now, I'll just brace this rainy season and stay cuddled up inside with these cozy fleece joggers. I combined leopard print fleece and crushed velvet to make these ultimate comfy joggers. This was my first time sewing up some joggers and I can't wait to sew more!
Plus, I created the comfiest and coziest outfit with the help of these leopard print joggers. Who says you can't look stylish, comfortable, and modest... all at once? :)
THE FABRIC
Did anyone see the $2 blankets that Walmart was selling a few months ago (or still selling?). During the summer I stocked up on a bunch of $2 blankets to use as fabric. There were so many cute patterns and prints, that I couldn't pass the opportunity up. I used a leopard print blanket to make these joggers. They turned out so cozy and warm, perfect for this chilly and rainy weather.
For the waistband, pockets, and cuffs, I used rose crushed velvet from Mily Mae Fabrics. I've been obsessed with crushed velvet for months now. Lately, everything I've made has pretty much been from crushed velvet.
THE PATTERN
As for the pattern, I used the Mama Bear Joggers from Patterns for Pirates. These joggers have so many options to choose from! These are a size XS. I didn't change anything except I slimmed down the sides a little bit.
The options I used for these particular joggers were:
- Yoga waistband
- Lower rise
- Slat front pockets
- Cuffs
These were the first pair of joggers that I've sewed, but certainly not the last. I'm thinking of a spring version made from a fresh french terry. Well, when spring actually decides to arrive, lol!
Plus, now I have a new favorite comfy outfit. It has been on repeat and will continue to be until this cloudy weather is over. I've linked some options below, if you decide to create your own comfy and cozy outfit!
