Yay for first blog post! :)
After going crazy over finals week at FIDM, I can finally relax for a full 3 weeks.
For my first blog post I decided to feature a cute little top that can be worn all throughout the summer with your favorite bottoms, or even as a swimsuit cover up if you find a longer t-shirt and use sheer material for the back.
I used this tutorial here from inspirationrealisation.com
Mine looks a tad bit different from the one in the original tutorial because I didn't use a longer hem for the back and my bow looks different. I finished the inside seams with a zig-zag stitch since I don't have a serger.
I made two shirts, one for me and one for my mom. :)
T-shirt: Victoria's Secret, $3 at Off Center Thrift and Gift
Polka Dot Fabric (Broadcloth) : Michael Levine's at LA Fashion District
Chiffon: Michael Levine's at LA Fashion District
T-shirt: $3, Off Center Thrift & Gift
Floral Fabric (Broadcloth) : FIDM's Fabric Room (free!)
Faille: FIDM's Fabric Room (free!)
Here is what it looks like when it's pinned:
Here's my finished top! :) and...
my mom's! :)
They both came out really well! Thank you for picking my project as your first post! I hope it brings you good luck! Xox, d.
